I have a Dell Axim X5 with PPC 2003. With this unit I have a Ftech xtrac 2 model FGPCFCD01 GPS receiver. I have been direct to the website http://www.f-tech.com.tw/Eng/Index.htm where I can then find the driver. The problem I am finding is this driver is for a PC not a PPC.
Can anyone guide me in installing the proper drive for this GPS?
    Thanks for the help.
Here is a pic of the GPS in case I have the wrong driver.

Down in the FAQ for your device it says:
    G-Mouse /CF card receiver --------------------------------------------------
    6. Does the CF (Compact Flash) GPS receiver need the device driver?
No, The CF card receiver does not need the driver if your system support directly CF card interface.
Please install this device driver if you want to use the CF card GPS receiver with your PC(Include notebook PC, or desktop PC).It is not necessary to install if you use it with your PDA.
    CfChtInst.exe---------Chinese Install driver program
    CfChtRemove.exe----Chinese Uninstall driver program
    CfEngInst.exe---------English Install driver program
    CfEngRemove.exe----English Uninstall driver program
It looks like they are saying it should `just work`.
I don`t have any GPS device for my PDA, yet. YMMV.

Your best bet is going to be to get hold of the manufacturer.
I`m assuming they have english tech support and that if you contact them and tell them the driver they are directing you to is wrong, they`ll be able to provide you with the correct drivers.
In my dealings with Holux and Ambicom for my X5 bluetooth setup, I found the tech support very helpful. I can`t remember where these companies are - I think Holux is in Taiwan. Don`t let the fact that it`s in Taiwan put you off from trying to contact them.

The PPC does see the device sort of. I does show new hardware found. I just need to find the driver or whatever to get this to work. I purchased the unit from ebay which came with the GPS but he previous owner did not have the software. I have not touched this thing since the original posting.
The software I have found on the net has done nothing to get this device to work. All I can really figure is the device might be defective?

I can`t see how to edit my posts.
Is it possible that what you perceive as a pc driver is really just the fact that the software installs on your pc and then triggers installation on your device when you connect via activesync? Or perhaps when you sync it and are running the software there is an option somewhere in the menus to install on ppc?

If it`s a compact flash unit there shouldn`t be pairing issues like bluetooth.
Have you tried contacting technical support?
Maybe their current drivers are for the newer units? Might be the only way you can get a PPC 2003 driver - get a live warm body on the phone and see if they`ll email it to you.
