I’m using WM5.0 on a IPAQ 2495. When using an image view I use the open file to find a JEPG in a subdirectory of the card I can not see any of my files. I’ve tried several image view programs. My directory structure is set up like this SDCARD/PHOTOS/KIDS/TOM. I’m trying to view a JEPG in the TOM directory. Am I doing something wrong, do I need to check some check box somewhere.

Create My Documents folder on the root directory of the sd card and put your folders inside it.

I can put the photo file in the folder My Documents and within the first subfolder and still see it. If I place it in a second subfolder I can no long find it. I can see photos in My Documents/ My Pictures, if I put the photo under a folder called testing with in My pictures, My Document/My Pictures/Testing, I can not see the folder Testing in my list of folders and I can not see my photo file when using the programs to open the photo file.
It seems with programs that have a tree type menu can find subfolders, programs with a dropdown box to choose folders can not find subfolders. Is this a function of WM or is my device not working properly.

    Hi
I know that on the device itself, WM will only allow one level of sub-folders under "My Documents". The default File Open dialog only shows one level of sub-folders in a drop-down and the files for the selected sub-folder in a list. One limitation of this is that it does exactly the same thing if you select to show files on the SD card.
Install http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=752 to overcome this limitation and open files wherever they are on your device or SD card.
    Hope that helps.
    Patrick

I put my folders in a folder called My Documents on the root of SDCARD. Now I don’t see my first directory called photos. Does WM5.0 allow subdirectories?

Just for testing, can you put a picture file in the main My Documents folder and see if the program can see it?

I believe that the normal behavior especially for WM programs from Microsoft. What image viewers have you tried? Perhaps there is one that can access file outside My Documents folder.
